PSI / Pre-Shipment Inspection is quite important, it helps to block troubles back to the country of origin and assure our customers will receive trouble-free products.

We did PSI on each piece of shipping batteries and, following up, there is FMA of GM12-100HR (12V100AH/10HR) with tested capacity 107Ah/10HR, in dimension 330*173*220 mm, weight 33.0KG/PC.

It is a High-Rate-discharge designed battery specific for project 430W/15mins@1.67VPC. One piece of 1200 supplied batteries was failed with OCV 10.71V, FMA was carried out.

Short-circuit was found and damage at the corner between one piece of positive plate and the next negative plate. Obviously the direct contact between plates result in short-circuit and damage the battery internal cell connections when high rate ampere current passing through. The user won't see the internal damage or incapable to check it because the battery is sealed structure, the user might not have battery-related knowledge and no proper tools and device to open the battery then check the internal connection status one by one.

A hole penetrated through the AGM separator punched by the burr like a tiny thorn on the surface of the plate-which was not well brushed and treated. GM12-100HR is designed for High-Rate discharge purpose, more quantity of plates were stuffed into the battery in order to provide high instant power and cooperating with thinner AGM separators, showing as extremely low IR and high energy power. The burr on the plate surface stick through the AGM and get direct contacted with another plate. Shall avoid such short-circuit especially under higher assembly pressure. Unqualified plates were sent to IQC department for further rectification measurements.
