How to maintain the electric motorcycle battery

1. Use the charger correctly

a) Determine whether the AC power supply matches the input voltage of the charger.

b) Determine whether the output voltage of the charger matches the rated voltage of the battery.

c) Insert the plug connecting the charger and the battery box first, and then insert the AC power plug.

d) When the charger is used indoors, it should be protected from moisture and vibration. It is strictly forbidden to cover when charging, and it should be placed in a ventilated and heat-dissipating place.

2. The battery cannot be charged all the time

a) Lead-acid batteries are not lithium batteries and cannot be recharged at any time. The life of a lead-acid battery is calculated according to the number of charging and discharging.

b) When charging, the indicator light of the charger is red first and then green. After the light turns green, the floating charge should be guaranteed for 2 hours, which is good for suppressing battery vulcanization.

3. Prevent the battery from overcharging

a) When the electric motorcycle battery is overcharged, a large amount of gas is produced to wash the plate, which accelerates the active material on the plate to fall off, and shortens the life of the battery.

b) The overcharging of the electric motorcycle battery accelerates the loss of water, which causes the electrolyte to dry up and the temperature of the battery to rise, resulting in thermal runaway, expansion of the plates, and deformation of the shell.

4. Prevent the battery from over-discharging

Paying attention to skills in using the battery car can also prolong the service life of the battery. Long-term deep discharge will cause the battery plate to soften and shorten the service life.

a) To prevent high current discharge, try to use your feet to assist when starting, going uphill and driving against the wind.

b) Prevent long-time discharge, do not often run out of electricity. Charge when the power is reduced by 1/2.

5. Prevent battery loss

For batteries that have been left unused for a long time, they should be fully charged once a month. Generally, it is better to continue floating charging for 5 hours after the red light of the charger turns green.
